The Importance of Volunteering

I have been volunteering for several years but, I was not always a volunteer. Here is how I became an avid volunteer. I had relocated to a different city and state and I was trying to figure out the best way to learn the city (you see I am not the type of person that goes joy riding). So, I decided the best way to learn the city was to volunteer. I began volunteering for numerous projects and events. While I was learning the city and seeing what it had to offer I realized that I enjoyed spending my time volunteering. My passion grew and the hunger that I had for volunteering, serving and giving back to the community begin to take over. I realized that I needed to figure out how I could better serve my community in a way of volunteering. As I begin this journey I transferred from Birmingham, AL to Charlotte, NC and my vision became a reality. I'm the Founder/Executive Director of a 501c3 nonprofit organization called Volunteer2ServeNGive. Our Mission is to bring awareness to homelessness and poverty communities via storytelling and technology. We also provide Volunteer Service Projects that allow us to Volunteer, Serve and Give Back in Charlotte and the surrounding communities.
